Our OFQUAL accredited First Aid at Work Course is specifically delivered to be in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.  The course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in the workplace, giving both the skill and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.  If your Organisation Employs more than 50 personnel, then they are required by Law to have a minimum of 1 qualified First Aider within your place of work.

What will you learn?

  • Adult resuscitation (CPR).
  • Allergic reaction.
  • Bone, muscle, and joint injuries.
  • Burns and scalds.
  • Chest pains.
  • Choking adult.
  • Communication and casualty care.
  • Eye injuries.
  • Head injuries.
  • Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based).
  • Defibrillator pad placement (theory based).
  • Low blood sugar.
  • Managing an emergency.
  • Minor and severe bleeding.
  • Poisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned.
  • Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations).
  • Spinal injuries.
  • Unresponsive adult.

How the Course Is Delivered?

This statutory course is delivered as blended learning so just two days of classroom training and one day face-to-face contact still embracing COVID-19 Mitigation.  This course is widely available at all our training centres, under the guidance of our specialist First Aid at Work trainers. Using the latest training technique, it maximises learner recall and confidence and meets HSE Regulations.

Our training is available in several formats, we offer the essential training you want in many ways to suit your needs.  If you have more than a few staff members that you wish to train, why not consider an onsite course.  If you require us to come to you, we can.  With qualified lead instructors based throughout the UK, HSQE Consultancy can provide training at your premises, at a time and date to suit your requirements.

We deliver the in-house courses at your location and to your needs to give you the training you require.  Businesses looking to save on cost, our in-house courses will be a much more cost-effective option for you, and you will not even need to travel; we come to you, cutting the cost considerably.

Should you require several courses, we can offer you course bundles at competitive corporate rates and potentially offer you discounts.  We currently deliver courses for many national companies throughout the UK so our open courses might suit you better.  Our open courses are ideal for individuals and groups, all our open courses are for anyone wishing to up their skills and knowledge in the chosen subject, these courses can be delivered in the following ways, classroom-based, blended learning which is a mix of both webinar-based and classroom-based delivery methods, there will still be an element of both Practical and Theory assessments in the blending learning approach.

HSQE Consultancy also offer an E-Learning First Aid to help the learning gain some theoretical Knowledge prior to undertaking the course.

Certification

First Aid Level 3 – expires on the 3 years anniversary after successfully completing and being issued the certification.  However, we recommend that you attend an upskill course every year to refresh your skills.  As part of our environmental policy, all certificates will be available as a link and PDF download on completion. Our e-certificates are valid certification and accepted by all governing bodies and accreditations centres.

Numbers

To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate and we limit maximum of 12 delegates can attend this course.

Requirements

Candidates have a good understanding of spoken and written English. While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.  Candidates do not need to have prior learning or experience in this qualification.

What to bring on the day?

Candidates are required to bring Photo ID in order that they may take the exam. This can either be a Passport or a Driving License.

How Do I Know Which Course Is Best Suited to Me?

All higher risk workplaces that have identified a need for comprehensive first aid e.g., light engineering and assembly work, food processing, warehousing, extensive work with dangerous machinery or sharp instruments, construction, chemical manufacture.  This course is suitable for all aged 16+.  This course is ideally suited to workplaces where a risk assessment has identified the need for staff to possess appropriate first aid skills and knowledge.  If you’re having trouble choosing a course, please call us on 01252214075 or simply fill out the contact form.
