You will, no doubt, be aware of the potentially devastating effects of fires in the workplace in terms of lives lost, injuries, damage to property and the environment, and to business continuity. You may also be aware that it is believed that most fires are preventable. The importance of fire safety in the workplace is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.  This Regulated and Nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their pre-existing knowledge of Fire Safety to the Fire Safety Level 2 Training to become the nominate Fire Marshal within their Organisation and to help ensure that they are always keeping themselves and others safe in the Workplace.

What will you learn?

This course provides the training, knowledge and understanding of fire regulations and general fire precautions. It aims to provide the knowledge to be become a fire marshal.  Learners will learn basic Fire Safety Principles, including: Causes of Fires in the Workplace, Basic Fire Safety Duties and Responsibilities, Principles of fire Risk Control, Safe use of Portable Fire-Fighting Equipment and more.  What is in the Course – A range of subjects are covered including:

  • The Hazards and Risks associated with Fire in the Workplace.
  • How Fire Risk is controlled in the Workplace.
  • The Role and the Responsibility of the Nominated Fire Warden.
  • The Principles and practice of Fire Safety Management in the Workplace.

How the is course delivered?

This statutory course is delivered in just 4 hours in a classroom still embracing COVID-19 Mitigation.  This course is widely available at all our training centres, under the guidance of our specialist trainers. Using the latest training technique, it maximises learner recall and confidence and meets HSE Regulations.  If you have more than a few staff members that you wish to train, why not consider an onsite course.  If you require us to come to you, we can.  With qualified lead instructors based     throughout the UK, HSQE Consultancy can provide training at your premises, at a time and date to suit your requirements.

Our open courses are ideal for individuals and groups, all our open courses are for anyone wishing to up their skills and knowledge in the chosen subject, these courses can be delivered in the following ways, classroom-based, blended learning which is a mix of both webinar-based and classroom-based delivery methods, there will still be an element of both Practical and Theory assessments in the blending learning approach.  HSQE Consultancy also offer an E-Learning Fire Awareness to help the learning gain some theoretical Knowledge prior to undertaking the course. 

Certification

This course ensures that you meet recommendations underlined by the HSE and provides you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to use what you have learned in a real fire emergency.  Certification will be issued to the learner, subject to successfully completing the test paper. Successful candidates will be awarded a national level 2 qualification.  The qualification has no expiry date; however, we recommend that you attend an upskill course every year to refresh your skills.  As part of our environmental policy, all certificates will be available as a link and PDF download on completion. Our e-certificates are valid certification and accepted by all governing bodies and accreditations centres.

Numbers

A maximum of 16 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.  A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

Requirements

Candidates have a good understanding of spoken and written English. While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.  Candidates do not need to have prior learning or experience in this qualification.

What to bring on the day?

Candidates are required to bring Photo ID in order that they may take the exam. This can either be a Passport or a Driving License.

How do I know which course is best suited for me?
