This course provides learners with guidance on catastrophic bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. All learners must hold an in-date Level 3 Emergency First Aid or Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification.

What will you learn?

Syllabus – A range of subjects are covered including:

  • Primary survey.
  • Catastrophic bleeding.
  • Haemostatic dressings.
  • Top-to-toe survey.
  • Environmental issues.
  • Handover to the emergency services.

How the Course Is Delivered?

This statutory course is delivered in the classroom training based set up face-to-face contact still embracing COVID-19 Mitigation.  This course is widely available at all our training centres, under the guidance of our specialist First Aid Catastrophic Bleeding Control trainers. Using the latest training technique, it maximises learner recall and confidence and meets HSE Regulations.

Our training is available in several formats, we offer the essential training you want in many ways to suit your needs.  If you have more than a few staff members that you wish to train, why not consider an onsite course.  If you require us to come to you, we can.  With qualified lead instructors based throughout the UK, HSQE Consultancy can provide training at your premises, at a time and date to suit your requirements.

We deliver the in-house courses at your location and to your needs to give you the training you require.  Businesses looking to save on cost, our in-house courses will be a much more cost-effective option for you, and you will not even need to travel; we come to you, cutting the cost considerably.  Should you require several courses, we can offer you course bundles at competitive corporate rates and potentially offer you discounts.  We currently deliver courses for many national companies throughout the UK so our open courses might suit you better.

Certification

Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual ongoing throughout the course and issue a certificate of attendance. There is no expiry date on the certificate as it is attendance only, however, we recommend that you attend this course every 3 years to refresh your skills.  As part of our environmental policy, all certificates will be available as a link and PDF download on completion. Our e-certificates are valid certification and accepted by all governing bodies and accreditations centres.

Numbers

To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate and we limit maximum of 16 delegates can attend this course.

Requirements

It is important that all candidates must hold an in-date Level 3 Emergency First Aid or Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification.  Candidates have a good understanding of spoken and written English. While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.

What to bring on the day?

Candidates are required to bring Photo ID in order that they may take the exam. This can either be a Passport or a Driving License.
